Arab Bank and Haya Cultural Centre have concluded the ‘Children’s Safety in the Digital World’ programme, implemented in collaboration with a number of local community organisations. The programme aimed to enhance children’s and young people’s awareness of digital safety and contribute to creating a safer online environment.

The programme targeted students, parents, teachers and caregivers through a range of interactive and educational activities designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the digital platforms safely and responsibly, recognise its key risks and understand how to prevent them.

As part of the programme, seven performances of the play “Jilgram” were staged, reaching approximately 950 students. Using artistic expression and creative storytelling, the performances explored the safe use of social media and online games, simplifying key digital safety concepts, including protecting online privacy, avoiding fraud and cyberbullying, and developing critical thinking skills.

Haya Cultural Centre also conducted workshops for parents, teachers and caregivers, attended by 130 participants. The workshops provided practical tools to help support and protect children and students in the digital world, address challenges such as excessive device use and the risks of communicating with strangers online, and promote informed parental supervision.

The programme further included five interactive workshops for children, attended by approximately 75 participants. These workshops focused on developing self-protection skills, navigating the digital platforms safely and responding appropriately to suspicious situations or cyberbullying. They also highlighted the importance of protecting privacy and avoiding the sharing of personal information. The workshops featured digital activities and games, as well as creative art projects designed to present digital safety concepts in an accessible and engaging way.

Haya Cultural Centre commended Arab Bank’s role in supporting initiatives that raise awareness of digital safety among children and their families, highlighting the programme’s contribution to developing children’s skills and fostering a safe learning environment that encourages innovation.

Arab Bank continues to support initiatives that raise awareness of digital safety among children and young people, with the aim of protecting younger generations from online risks and empowering them to use technology responsibly in their daily lives.
